More than 2,000 children at various test sites participate in the reading program to evaluate approximately 500 recently published books. Their reactions are assessed, and the final selections are narrowed to about 100 titles. The selections are published annually in the "Children's Choices" section of IRA's publication The Reading Teacher.
The editors of this new edition of the highly regarded Best Books for Children series have maintained the high standards established in previous editions.
